The Detail Estimate is prepared in two stages

1.     Details of Measurement and Calculation of Quantities

Item No.	Description of Particulars	No.	Dimensions in m			Quantity In Cu.m
			Length	Breadth	Height (or ) Depth

I t includes the details of earthwork, concrete,brickwork etc. And its quantities are computed.

2.      Abstract of Estimated Cost

Item No.	Description of Particulars	Quantity	Unit Cu.m or sq.m	Rates	Per Cu.m or sq.m	Amount

The cost under each item of work is calculated from the quantities already computed at workable rate and then the total cost is calculated.
