Extra Widening on Horizontal Curves- Software

Widening of Pavement is done on Horizontal curve when the radius of curve is lesser. The major reason for providing is because of

• Off tracking- rear wheel does not follow the same path of the front wheel on curves.
• Transverse skidding may occur.
• when overtaking on curves they may need psychologically greater clearance.

The software application designed to find the Extra Widening includes Mechanical widening and Psychological widening by meeting the IRC Standards.
